So it keeps getting longer...the intervals between blogs that is. Since there is a little break in between, I thought it'd be nice to actually post something. I'm sure all my subscribers (both of you) have pretty much lost interest in follow my blog just as much as I've lost interest in keeping it updated...hahaha.
Anyways, so it's June and I only have a few weeks left here at Deutsch Inc. It's been an amazing experience. I've definitely grown into my own as an art director here. Just seeing the amazingly hard work that goes into each project, the attention to detail, and workign with the most consistent and attentive art directors and creative directors have really given me a new appreciation, and a better motivation, to become even better then I am now. No, it's not like I think I am all that and a bag of chips but I know that I've definitely gained more skill and developed a faster method for concepting and executing than before. I also understand the business and the methodology that goes into working at an agency as well.
So to give a quick recap on what's been going on so far. The past couple of months have been really hectic here. With all the Live Out Loud stuff (liveoutloud.info) and the PNC pitch, I've been working really hard and really late. First, the Live Out Loud. The event on 4/27 (I'll never forget that date, I put it on so many things) was a success. I saw all my pieces that I created "come to life" and plastered all over the place. It was a very surreal experience. I was surrounded by my own produced work and everyone was complimenting me on it! It gave me chills. Too bad I had forgotten to charge my battery of my camera and couldn't take any pictures. I found a photographer that was working for the event and asked him to take a few pictures for me but I haven't heard from him so we'll see where it goes. I so need it for my portfolio!!!!!
Next up was a bunch of stuff like: (since I can't say anything bad, check out the faces for what I think of them)
Ortho (ThePill.com) :-O
Excelon ?-I
Sheraton >:-I
Tylenol :-)
Micheal J. Fox Foundation ;-)
But I can honestly say nothing beats working on a new business pitch. I worked for the past few weeks on the PNC Bank pitch that I hope Deutsch ends up winning. We worked really hard. A lot of late nights and weekends for me but they did much more than I ever could. At least I helped out and some of the things I created went to the pitch. It all makes the hell weeks worth it.
Anyway, just found out where I'm heading to next on my little adventure. I can't believe I'm already half way over with this Fellowship program. It's flying by but been really really fun and inspirational. I definitely picked the right industry for my career. Beats the Navy any day, man!
Alright, till the next time. Maybe I will even post pictures or videos....wooooooohhh.
